Today our much beloved 14 y/o dog Sydney passed away. I am just heartbroken. Mr. Plaidshoes and I got her soon after we were married. She was a stray and didn't bark for almost a year after we got her. She seemed to know we were her family right away. She never needed a leash and pretty much just loved us and we loved her. It is hard to believe we won't be seeing her everyday. I hope she she is in a happy place. Goodbye Sydney.

Zeppelin (our pure blend) and I am so sorry for your loss - I can't imagine as I worship my dog. Take the time to feel sad.
My condolences on your loss. Perhaps you might find some comfort and solace in this:

Oh I'm so sad for your whole family. You know I was very fond of Syd. She was always so sweet to me--but perhaps that's because she knew that I was a sucker for cute small dogs :)
Well it sounds like you gave Sydney thirteen years of love worth barking about. She did very well for a dog. Almost a hundred years old in the standard 7 for 1 dog years.
My condolences on your loss of a good friend.
Thank you, everyone, for your kind words. It is amazing how a pet just becomes a natural part of your life and how suddenly they can be gone. We truly feel a hole in our lives. I do appreciate, though, how we were lucky enough to have her for thirteen great years.
I'm so sorry to hear about your doggie. It's hard to lose a member of your family.
